Mario Saraiva is a Brazilian national and holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University, in New York City. He is a strong advocate for evidence-based policy and believes much can be done through research and data analysis. At Columbia, Mario has taken classes on impact evaluation of public policies and data science.

He currently lives in New York City. Since January 2017, at the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investments, Mario co-leads a researcher project on the role of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence on sustainable investments at emerging markets. For fours years, he worked at the World Bank where he has taken assignments in different sectors such as in the Sustainable Development, Social Protection and Disaster Risk Management Global practices.
